Brisbane Fashion Festival Returns for
20th Anniversary Celebration
Brisbane Fashion Festival returns in 2025, to celebrate its 20th anniversary as Queensland’s largest and most prestigious fashion event.
The Festival will run from Sunday 24 – Friday 29 August, bringing a dazzling showcase of the newest, the most sought-after, and the freshest visions from Queensland and Australia’s top fashion designers and retail curators.
This year Brisbane Fashion Festival marks its 20th year of celebrating the very best in local established and next gen fashion talent.
From iconic destinations and unforgettable runway moments, to hosting some of the most renowned names in Australian fashion, Brisbane Fashion Festival has gone from strength to strength over the years.
Now, the 2025 event promises another spectacular celebration of fashion and local creativity.
“As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Brisbane Fashion Festival, planning is underway for one of our most exciting line-ups yet,” said Festival Director, Lindsay Bennett.
“Since the very first outfit graced the runway in 2006, it’s wonderful that the Fashion Festival has remained a relevant and much-loved event every year. Fashion fans can anticipate another incredible week of fashion and spectacle, with an expanded program of On- and Off-Runway events, some thrilling destinations, and of course, a packed program featuring the brightest local, Australian, and next gen fashion talent,” said Mr Bennett.
Brisbane Fashion Festival welcomes back Principal Partner, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, whose valued support ensures the event’s success each year.
Brisbane Fashion Festival and Brisbane Economic Development Agency share a dedication to promoting and celebrating our city’s incredible local businesses and fashion scene.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the Festival was a testament to the remarkable talent and entrepreneurial spirit of Brisbane’s local fashion industry.
“For 20 years, the Brisbane Fashion Festival has added to our fantastic lifestyle by creating more to see and do across our city,” Cr Schrinner said.
“The iconic festival has unlocked opportunities for local designers to shine here and abroad and gives us a chance to celebrate Brisbane’s creativity and innovation.
“From up-and-coming designers to legacy brands, we can’t wait to see what the 20th anniversary of this homegrown event has in store.”
Brisbane Fashion Festival Ambassador Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner said the event would once again shine the spotlight on Brisbane’s evolving fashion and design sector.
“It’s fantastic to see this industry-leading event return for its 20th year to put Brisbane’s unique style on full display,” Mrs Schrinner said.
“The festival is an opportunity for fashion fans to celebrate exciting local works by designers at all stages of their careers, from acclaimed fashion houses that have set trends for decades to fresh talent taking daring new designs to the runway.
“Brisbane is fast becoming a culture capital in its own right and I look forward to seeing what our brilliant designers have come up with over the jam packed program.”
For 20 years, Brisbane Fashion Festival has remained dedicated to driving local fashion retail. The Festival is committed to supporting the local fashion industry and encouraging customers to make considered purchases. With Australians buying on average 56 new items of clothing per year, directing a number of these purchases to local designers and retailers can ensure a continued thriving fashion scene for Queensland and Australia.
As the first runway event in the country to launch Spring/Summer collections annually, the Festival coincides with new-season collections landing in stores and online. By connecting fashion enthusiasts with Queensland and Australian designers as their new-season collections launch, customers are inspired to choose local and shop their favourite runway looks right away.
Brisbane Fashion Festival will again present an exceptional line-up in 2025, from the most coveted brands to the soon-to-be industry favourites, for a fresh and inspiring celebration of Spring/Summer fashion.
Applications for designers to be showcased in this year’s Brisbane Fashion Festival are now open.
The full 2025 program, including participating designers and retailers, will be released on Friday 29 May. Tickets go on sale through Ticketek from Monday 2 June.
