Brisbane Fashion Festival’s Celebration of Design Returns in 2022
Organisers are thrilled to announce the return of Queensland’s largest and most prestigious annual fashion event in 2022.
The Brisbane Fashion Festival will again take over King George Square in the heart of Brisbane City from Monday 22 – Friday 26 August and is set to welcome more than 2,000 fashion fans across the three days of the event, plus many more via the runway Live Streams.
In partnership with Principal Partner, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Brisbane Fashion Festival will showcase the very best of local fashion design, from the most well-known names in Queensland fashion to the brightest up-and-coming talent, alongside some of Australia’s coveted national labels.
Brisbane Fashion Festival Director, Lindsay Bennett, is delighted to unveil the initial plans for the 2022 event.
“Brisbane Fashion Festival proved to be a much-longed-for celebration last year amid the challenges of the pandemic, and a wonderful example of the joy that fashion can provide,” Mr Bennett said.
“With tickets to all last year’s events selling out in less than three days, plans are being developed to allow even greater numbers of fashion lovers to rediscover and support Queensland and Australian designers.
“Seizing and expanding on the success of Brisbane Fashion Festival 2021, the 2022 Festival will continue the momentum of our successful new format within a spectacular setting, to ensure the experience is as exciting and engaging as ever.” Mr Bennett said.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the Brisbane Fashion Festival was a beacon for the city’s established fashion industry.
“Brisbane’s incredible spring weather, thriving inner-city, and our iconic King George Square will provide a stunning backdrop for Brisbane’s most loved fashion extravaganza,” Cr Schrinner said.
“Brisbane is home to some of the country’s most innovative and creative designers, and this prestigious festival will once again shine the spotlight on our city’s creative industry while attracting further brand exposure for local talent.”
The Brisbane Fashion Festival team is also delighted to welcome back returning sponsors: Issada Cosmetics, Schwarzkopf Professional, Channel 10, KIIS 97.3FM, Style Magazines, plus new partner Mercedes-Benz Brisbane.
As Brisbane Fashion Festival evolves, what remains the same is its dedication to driving fashion retail for Queensland. Fashion enthusiasts can expect a spectacular line-up of Queensland and Australian designers, both established and emerging, with all the raw creativity, spectacular aesthetics, and inspiring runway moments audiences have come to expect from this premier annual event.
