Presented by QUEENSLAND BALLET

To celebrate the 2023 Brisbane Fashion Festival, Queensland Ballet will host a special event that focuses on the intricate art of costume design.

Enjoy a decadent high tea on the Thomas Dixon Centre’s rooftop terrace while listening to a panel discussion with members of Queensland Ballet’s costume department as they discuss the creative process involved in conceptualising, creating and altering costumes for the stage.

The discussion will feature Zoe Griffiths (Costume Performance Manager / Associate Designer), Michael Green (Wig, Hair, and Makeup Supervisor), and Amanda Newman (Shoe Coordinator) as they unpack the range of skills and processes required to produce the costumes in Queensland Ballet’s 2023 productions of Giselle, My Brilliant Career and The Little Mermaid.

From head to toe, the costume team will take you through the journey from creative concepts to fittings, trials and adjustments.

The high tea is catered by Queensland Ballet Corporate Partner Cuisine on Cue and involves morning tea, coffee and tea service, and a glass of sparkling wine.
